Hello! Like many of Sapphicore’s past visual novel projects, and with consent of the awesome Shibalist, I’ve released Please Be Funny as open source! It’s licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license. This means you can buy the awesome Naninovel Unity extension, which is how I usually write and make VNs, and then build the game yourself. You can even use the assets for other non-commercial projects if you give proper credit.

You may need to install Text Animator for Unity as well to get the project to build, which I also highly recommend. Either way, feel free to poke around the assets even if you don’t have these tools!
