For many, the circus is an escape. But for Clara, the circus is her life... and she's the punchline.
Please Be Funny features:
- a kinetic (no choices) visual novel under 1000 words. that's about ten minutes of playtime
- a clown girl designed and drawn by the wonderful shibalist.
Please Be Funny was made for O2A2 2026 and contains one sound effect, one background, and one very, very sad clown.

This game was such a treat!! The ending in particular lifted my spirits; it’s such a deceptively simple realization that so many creatives forget. Did me good to be reminded :) And Clara is such a sweetheart. I’d see her show anytime!!

Heard joke once: Girl goes to doctor. Says she's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says she feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. Great clown Claragiacci is in town tonight. Go and see her. That should pick you up." Girl bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor...I am Claraiacci...............
(For real though, this was lovely! Rooting for her! I'm ready to CLOWN!)

Wow, that was like a full blown production mini anime episode. Very cool! Adore Clara's character sprite art. The music and circus audience sound effects fully immersed me. Good game!
